Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information WebsiteOf ("we", "the site") collects when you use it, how that information is used, and the choices you have. We have kept it short and specific because the site collects very little.
Information you enter
To perform a lookup, the site needs the business name you type and, if you provide one, the address. These are sent to our server, used to run the search, and the resulting list of web addresses is stored on our server for 2 days so that the same lookup can be answered instantly if it is repeated in that time. Stored lookups contain only the business name, the address if given, the web addresses found, and the time of the lookup. They are not linked to you.
For a bulk lookup, the business names in your CSV file are processed the same way. The file itself is not stored. The list of results is kept in memory for one hour after the lookup finishes so you can download it, then deleted.
Please do not enter personal information in the search fields or in uploaded files. The tool is for business names.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our server records standard request logs: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are used to keep the site running, to diagnose problems and to protect against abuse. They are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
The site does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.
Cookies and advertising
The site itself does not set cookies for tracking or analytics.
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Bulk lookup is paid for by these ads, so when you open the home page your browser checks whether ads can load (it asks Google's ad server whether it can be reached, tries to load a small test file, and looks at a hidden test element). If ads are blocked, bulk lookup asks you to allow them; single lookups work either way. The check runs only in your browser: its result is not stored and is not sent to us.
For more on how Google uses data when you use our site, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Third-party services
- Google AdSense for advertising, as described above.
- Google Fonts to load the typeface used on the site. When the page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google's Fonts privacy FAQ describes what is logged.
- Public web search. Lookups are answered by querying a public search engine from our server. Your business name query is sent to that engine by our server; your own IP address and browser details are not.
How we use information
Only to operate the site: to answer lookups, to cache results, to keep the service reliable and secure, and to display advertising. We do not sell information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers named above, each of which receives only what is needed for its function.
Retention
- Stored lookup results: kept for 2 days, then deleted automatically.
- Bulk lookup results: kept for 1 hour after the lookup finishes, then deleted. Uploaded files are not stored.
- Server logs: kept for up to 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because the site stores no personal information beyond short-lived server logs, there is usually nothing to retrieve, but you are welcome to ask. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the home page for a period after they take effect.
